Find out more about the City's project to promote community kindness in Armadale.
Acts of Kindness is a project that encourages everyone to spread kindness. The City has designed a community kindness card (available to download below) to distribute throughout the community and invite people to get involved in sharing the message and doing acts of kindness.
The card explains the benefits of kindness and some simple ideas of how to do an act of kindness for yourself or for someone else.
Being kind or helping someone can:
Brighten someone’s day
Boost your mood
Reduce your stress levels.
The Acts of Kindness in Armadale project was originally launched on the 13th of November 2022, in line with World Kindness Day. Following the success of the project, the City once again ran the project in 2023 throughout the month of October in line with Mental Health Week, and again in 2024 in November, in line with World Kindness Day (13 November).
In 2024, the City of Armadale collaborated with Crossways Community Services in their Annual Charity Christmas Appeal. Donation boxes were placed at seven City community facilities, and thanks to the generosity of the community, a whopping 164.285kg of donations were collected, which supported Crossways in providing 150 packs to 150 families in need over the festive season.
In November, visit one of our community facilities or participating local businesses (listed below) to receive your Acts of Kindness card and spread kindness in our community.
Or, download an Acts of Kindness in Armadale card below and do an act of kindness.
Why not donate to the Crossways Annual Charity Christmas Appeal as your act of kindness.
Help put food on the table for those in need over this festive season. For a list of acceptable food items, the flyer is available to download below. If you missed the chance to donate or want to keep the kindness going, Crossways Community Services welcomes donations all year round for their Emergency Relief Pantry. Items like tinned food, cereal, rice, pasta, long-life milk, tea, coffee, and sugar are always appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at the Crossways Op Shop on Railway Ave, Armadale, open 9am–5pm.
Registrations for local businesses and organisations have now closed. For further information about the project, please contact the City’s Community Health and Wellbeing Officer at health@armadale.wa.gov.au or on (08) 9394 5000.
